Indian weightlifter Poojary wins bronze at Commonwealth Games

He raised 269kg to be India’s 2nd weightlifter to secure a medal

Indian Weightlifter Gururaja Poojary secured a bronze medal in the guys’s 61kg classification at the Republic Gamings, including in the nation’s tally in Birmingham on Saturday.

Gururaja, a bit medallist at the 2018 CWG at Gold Shore, raised an overall of 269kg (118kg +151 kg) to end up in 3rd location.

Malaysia’s Aznil Container Bidin Muhamad got the gold medal with a Gaming document lift of 285kg (127 +158). Morea Baru of Papua New Guinea nabbed the silver with an overall lift of 273kg (121 +152).

It was India’s 2nd medal at the continuous version of the Gamings after Sanket Sagar won a silver in the guys’s 55kg classification.
